Oppong is originally from Kumasi, Ghana but grew up in Scarborough, Ontario. The 25-year-old played two years with the University of Cincinnati and won the Big East Championship, earning Newcomer of the Year honours along the way. Oppong transferred to the University of Buffalo in his junior year where he earned 2nd Team All-MAC honours and the Coaches’ Award. Oppong has pro experience with the Harrisburg City Islanders in the USL-2 and played for the Canadian National team at the U17 and U20 levels.
