David Monsalve began his professional career with Toronto FC in the MLS in 2007, making him the youngest goalkeeper to play in league history. From there the keeper moved on to Europe where he won the 2009 Finnish Cup with FC Inter Turku. His stint with the club in Finland included a UEFA Europa Cup match against Racing GENK. Monsalve also has National Team experience having played at every level and making his debut for the Senior Men's team on January 10, 2010. Monsalve signed with FC Edmonton in July, 2011.
