A standout at Michigan's Oakland University, Mitch Hildebrandt begins his pro career in the navy and gold.
The Livonia, Mich., native provides a second option in goal as he and veteran Matt VanOekel compete for the Stars starting job following the retirement of Joe Warren. A former captain at Oakland University in Rochester, Mich., Hildebrandt was a three-time All Summit League performer and captain of the Grizzlies in 2011. With Hildebrandt as first-choice goalkeeper from 2009-2011, the Grizzlies were among the Summit League’s most consistent teams, winning the conference’s regular season title in 2009, its tournament title in 2010 and appearing in the tournament championship game in 2011. Hildebrandt made 13 starts in 2011, posting 56 saves and a 1.10 goals against average.
