Match Preview: Atlanta vs Carolina
Silverbacks Host RailHawks
Posted on Fri, Jun 15, 2012

Goals can be expected as the Atlanta Silverbacks entertain the Carolina RailHawks Saturday night at Silverbacks Park in Atlanta, Georgia. Five previous encounters between these two have produced an astounding 23 goals. The Silverbacks will be hopeful of collecting the full three points for the first time at home this season, as the Carolina RailHawks are still looking for their win on the road.

After a disappointing start to the season, the RailHawks are flying high coming into this match, riding the back of a three-game unbeaten streak. In their last match, the RailHawks hammered the previously unbeaten Minnesots Stars 5-1 at WakeMed Soccer Park.

In San Antonio, the Silverbacks lost their fifth game of the season, a 3-0 defeat to the San Antonio Scorpions at Heroes Stadium. The defeat, together with wins for both Carolina and Edmonton, cemented Atlanta’s place at the bottom of the NASL standings.

The last match between these familiar foes resulted in eight goals equally shared between the two sides. With just three points separating the two clubs, both teams will be eager for a result.
