Match Preview: Carolina vs. Edmonton
RailHawks Host Eddies on Saturday
Posted on Fri, Jun 22, 2012

Occupying the sixth and seventh places in the table, there isn’t much separating the Carolina RailHawks from visitors FC Edmonton as the Canadian side come to Cary, North Carolina on Saturday night. There may only be a three point gap between the sides in the standings, but recent form tells a different tale.  The rejuvenated Carolina RailHawks, riding a three-match-winning streak, have picked up 14 points from the last five games. Edmonton, on the other hand, have picked up a meager four in the same time frame.

Underperforming at the start of the new season, the RailHawks have begun to look more like their former selves in recent weeks. Last weekend the RailHawks made it three wins in a row, defeating a struggling Atlanta Silverbacks side by two goals to nil, to leapfrog Edmonton in the standings.

FC Edmonton’s form is on the other end of the spectrum. The side is coming off a one-goal defeat to the Fort Lauderdale Strikers, and have won just once in their last five games.

With a victory, the RailHawks could potentially climb to third place in the standings. And just three points separating the Edmonton from Carolina, the Eddies will be eager to keep the RailHawks from pulling further ahead in the NASL standings.
