Rowdies and Islanders Draw 0-0
Both Teams Miss An Opportunity to Clinch a Playoff Spot

The Tampa Bay Rowdies and Puerto Rico played to a scoreless draw at Al Lang Stadium in downtown St. Petersburg. Jeff Attinella earned his eight shutout of the season and his the 13th of his career. Both teams came into the evening with an opportunity to clinch a playoff spot with a victory, but the tie leaves both sides waiting until next week to clinch.

In the 3rd minute, Fafa Picault had a chance off  a corner from Luke Mulholland, but his header was blocked a the  Islanders’ defense. A few seconds later, Frankie Sanfilippo had an opportunity, but his shot went wide.

In the 27th minute, Tampa Bay's Evans Frimpong was taken down in the penalty box . The penalty kick was attempted by forward Mike Ambersley but the shot was saved by GK Richard Martin who dove to his right.

The game was scoreless going into halftime. In the second half, much of the match was played in the midfield with few good opportunities either way.

In the 77th minute,  The Rowdies Luke Mulholland's free kick went off the wall and it was saved by Richard Martin. The rebound was cleared.

The game ended scoreless at 0-0.
