Match Preview: Carolina vs. San Antonio
RailHawks Host Scorpions on Saturday

The San Antonio Scorpions travel to Cary, North Carolina to take on the high-flying Carolina RailHawks at WakeMed Soccer Park. The RailHawks were humiliated in their last match against the league-leaders, losing by eight goals to nil in the Alamo City.

Carolina in the league’s most in-form team at the moment with three wins in a row. The side are coming off of a huge 3-1 victory against the Puerto Rico Islanders in their notoriously difficult Estadio Juan Ramon Loubriel. The win saw the RailHawks move up to fourth in the table, level on points with the Fort Lauderdale Strikers, with two games in hand.

In San Antonio’s last match, the team came were forced to come from behind to earn a point from their match against Minnesota Stars FC. Hans Denissen leveled the scoring for the Scorpions with his fourth goal of season after Amani Walker had put the hosts up with a first-half opener.

The last meeting between the sides produced the greatest margin of victory in NASL history; an 8-0 win by the Scorpions in the Alamo City. Carolina has since gone 3-1-1 since that historic loss, and can clinch a spot in the playoffs with a win or tie against San Antonio.
