The Tampa Bay Rowdies were crowned champions of the 2012 NASL Soccer Bowl on Saturday, October 27 at Al Lang Stadium, capping off an incredible season. Throughout the offseason, we will bring you interviews with some of the players from the 2012 squad as they look back on the championship season.
Our second interview is with Rowdies captain and defender Frankie Sanfilippo, who started 26 regular season and four post season matches. The defender was named NASL Defensive Player of the Week three times (May 29, July 23, and September 4), and played a total of 2,730 minutes in the season, second-most on the team. Sanfilippo has been the Rowdies captain for both the 2011 and 2012 season.
