Winter Open Tryouts a Success
Posted on Mon, Dec 3, 2012

The Strikers held their first open tryouts of the 2012-2013 offseason on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 1-2 at Fort Lauderdale and Lockhart Stadiums. More than 70 players from South Florida and around the world participated for the opportunity to earn an invitation to the Strikers preseason camp beginning in February of 2013.

Strikers head coach Daryl Shore and assistant coach Ricardo Lopes were on hand along with several trusted talent evaluators to grade each player.

The coaches even had help from Strikers players Andy Herron and Aly Alberto Hassan, who turned up to look over the scores of potential teammates.

Coach Daryl Shore was pleased with the turnout and hopes to find a diamond in the rough.

“You never know, maybe you find one or two players who are good enough, and give them a chance to make the roster,” said Shore.

The Strikers will host another open tryout in January before the start of preseason camp. Information will be available right here on strikers.com.
