The Puerto Rico Islanders continue with their  “Youth Club Spotlight” program, which gives soccer clubs in different communities around Puerto Rico the tools and motivation they need in order to work with the young members of their teams. This week they visited Conquistadores of Guaynabo.

The members of the club  had the privilege of having the proper steps and what it takes  to take to become a professional soccer player explained by members of the Puerto Rico Islanders club.

"We had the pleasure of joining Sergio Castro and his academy in Guaynabo continuing our support to youth soccer across the Island. The evening consisted more of talking to all the players in one group in what it takes to become a professional soccer player.  I was joined by Caleb Norkus, Alexis Rivera and Héctor "Pito" Ramos in maintaining the exposure of youth soccer through the Puerto Rico Islanders." expressed Islanders' Head Coach Adrian Whitbread.

Founded in 2002, Conquistadores has been one of the most consistent teams in Puerto Rico, collecting more than 70 trophies in their young history.  Their categories range from U-5, U-7, U-9, U-11, U-13, U-15 and U-17.  The club is directed by the ex Puerto Rico National Team assistant coach Sergio Castro.
