Five Carolina RailHawks matches during the 2013 season will be broadcast live on television channel WRAL2.  The expanded Capitol Broadcasting Company and RailHawks partnership will more than double the number of home matches available to viewers over the air on channel 5.2 and on Time Warner Cable digital channel 106. The first match available for the at home fan’s viewing pleasure will be the RailHawks matchup against 7-time Mexican champion Pumas UNAM on March 20th at 7:30pm at the New WakeMed Soccer Park.

“The enhanced partnership with Capitol Broadcasting Company is a great illustration of the continued growth of the Carolina RailHawks in the Triangle and beyond,” said RailHawks President Curt Johnson.  “In three years we have grown from only broadcasting our home matches over the web to a more comprehensive television package which highlights some of the marquee games of the 2013 season, a complete radio broadcast package via HD radio, and online webcasts of all home and away matches globally over CarolinaRailHawks.com.  This is an integral step in the growth of the RailHawks and we are excited to expand the reach of the RailHawks brand and team to more soccer fans than ever.  Capitol Broadcasting Company has been a strong supporter of soccer in the Triangle since the 1970’s and we are proud to work alongside them to grow the game here, in the Triangle.”

In addition to March 20th, the RailHawks television broadcast package on WRAL2 will include the April 13th Grand Opening of the New WakeMed Soccer Park, the June 29th Fireworks Extravaganza match, the New York Cosmos first visit to North Carolina on August 17th, and the November 2nd NASL Regular Season Finale. Fans will also continue to hear the Voice of the RailHawks, Dean Linke, on all RailHawks home matches available over high definition radio channel 99.9-HD3 The Ticket and www.WRALSportsFan.com.  All RailHawks home and away matches will continue to be broadcast over www.CarolinaRailHawks.com at no charge.

The RailHawks next home match is against Pumas UNAM on March 20th at 7:30pm at the New WakeMed Soccer Park.  Individual tickets for the match are available for purchase through Etix.com or by calling the St. Lawrence Homes Box Office at 919-459-8144.  Tickets to this special match can also be reserved by purchasing 2013 RailHawks Season Tickets or the ‘Pumas 3-Game Pack’ including tickets to the March 20th exhibition, April 20th match against Fort Lauderdale Strikers, and August 17th match against the New York Cosmos.  For more information on the March 20th Pumas match and RailHawks ticket packages visit www.CarolinaRailHawks.com/pumas or e-mail tickets@CarolinaRailHawks.com
