The Carolina RailHawks are flying high in March as their preseason schedule begins to take shape. The 2013 preseason schedule is packed with excitement including the highly anticipated matchup against Liga MX giant Pumas UNAM. The Pumas roster features some of the top players from Mexico like Olympic gold medalist Javier Cortés. The RailHawks preseason schedule also includes games against local college programs UNC, NC State, Wake Forest, and UNC Wilmington. A home-and-home series with former Southern Derby Rival, Charleston Battery will finish off the RailHawks preparation for the upcoming 2013 NASL season.

RailHawks March Preseason Schedule

On Sunday, February 24th the RailHawks hosted the 5th Annual Hilton Garden Inn Durham Southpoint Community Shield Match to kickoff the preseason, dropping the preseason opener to MLS squad Vancouver Whitecaps. The RailHawks rebounded with two strong showings, a 3-1 victory against the Duke Blue Devils in Durham and a 4-1 victory over the Richmond Kickers. The RailHawks finished the week with a strong 2W-0T-1L. The remaining games will allow the RailHawks coaching staff to finalize the roster in preparation for the 2013 NASL Regular Season opener against the Tampa Bay Rowdies on April 6th. All college games, as well as the match up with the Charleston Battery, are free to the public and will take place at WakeMed Soccer Park. RailHawks 2013 Season Ticket holders will receive the Pumas match as part of their ticket package.  The Pumas 3-Game Pack, are now available for purchase and include a ticket to the Pumas match March 20th, the April 20th regular season match against the Fort Lauderdale Strikers, and the August 17th match versus the New York Cosmos. In November 2012, the Carolina RailHawks organization announced that it will donate 10% of its total ticket revenue for each of the 2013-2015 seasons back to the Triangle community.  The RailHawks donation will focus on supporting soccer-related programs that will help to further build and strengthen soccer in our area.
