The Carolina RailHawks will take on the San Antonio Scorpions at Toyota Field on Saturday, May 9, at 8:30 p.m. ET.
“The Scorpions won the title last year, but haven’t gotten off to a good start. They need the points as much as we do, and that calls for a difficult game,” RailHawks head coach Colin Clarke said. “We haven’t picked up three points since the beginning of the season, and we are focused on getting them next Saturday in San Antonio.”
The RailHawks (1W-3D-1L, 6 points) played the Tampa Bay Rowdies to a 1-1 draw last weekend at WakeMed Soccer Park. Nacho Novo scored in the sixth minute to give the home side the early lead, but the Rowdies quickly responded with a goal of their own. The remainder of the match was a hard-fought, physical battle, but neither team was able to capitalize on their chances.
San Antonio Scorpions (0-1-3, 1) are coming off of a 2-1 loss at Jacksonville Armada FC. They are still in search of their first win of the season and sit in last place of the NASL Spring Season standings. The RailHawks are currently in sixth place.
