Carolina RailHawks will be on the road taking on the Fort Lauderdale Strikers at Lockhart Stadium on Saturday, May 23rd at 7:30 pm ET.
The RailHawks (1W-4D-2L, 7 points) are looking to improve their record in the NASL standings, as the Spring Season is coming to a close. The RailHawks currently sit in sixth place with seven points, while the Strikers (2-1-3, 7) are in seventh, but have played one less game than the RailHawks so far.
“We are coming off a disappointing ending to the game against the Cosmos, but the team is still strong, and we feel confident about our abilities,” RailHawks head coach Colin Clarke said. “The Spring Season is coming to an end, and it’s time for us to get our next win.”
The RailHawks drew the New York Cosmos, 2-2, at WakeMed Soccer Park last Saturday. The RailHawks held a 2-0 lead after goals by Neil Hlavaty and Tiyi Shipalane, but New York leveled the match in dramatic fashion after an unfortunate own goal by Futty Danso and a 97th minute goal by Andrés Flores.
The Strikers are coming off a 1-0 loss to the Tampa Bay Rowdies. The lone goal came from Tampa Bay’s forward Robert Hernández in the 55th minute of play, giving the Rowdies the victory.
The RailHawks will return to WakeMed Soccer Park on Wednesday, May 27, at 7:30 pm, when they host the Charlotte Independence in the third round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
