NASL action returns to national sports network ONE World Sports in 2016 as part of a multiyear broadcast television partnership. Beginning on Saturday, April 2, ONE World Sports will be home to the NASL Game of the Week, as well as NASL This Week, a 30-minute highlight show featuring action from around the league.
“We're proud to continue our great partnership with ONE World Sports,” NASL Commissioner Bill Peterson said. “They were the first national broadcaster to partner with us and they have done a fine job of producing some very exciting television. We're looking forward to the new streaming component that will allow anyone in the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico to watch our ONE World Sports matches.”
ONE World Sports will carry 11 Saturday games – one per week – during the NASL Spring Season and 12 games during the Fall Season. Broadcasting veterans JP Dellacamera, Ed Cohen, Shep Messing, and Janusz Michallik will serve as the on-air talent this year. The NASL Game of the Week will move from Saturdays to Wednesdays for the Fall Season, which starts in July. The NASL Game of the Week schedule for the Spring Season can be found here.
In addition to TV viewers having access to NASL action through their cable providers, fans across the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico will be able to watch unrestricted live streams of games on ONEWorldSports.com. All NASL games will also be available to authenticated users via the Watch ONE World Sports mobile app.
“The NASL has become a formidable presence on the international soccer scene with domestic and imported talent cultivating new fans on a regular basis,” said Sandy Brown, President & CEO, ONE World Sports. “ONE World Sports is investing a significant amount of resources to help grow the NASL audience including access for every fan to view the NASL Game of the Week via the network’s website and the continuation of our league highlight show, NASL This Week.”
Tina Cervasio and Ed Cohen will host NASL This Week every Tuesday at 6 p.m. ET, bringing fans closer to the field with all-access features, highlights, and more.
ONE World Sports is currently available in more than 30 million U.S. homes on cable, telco, and satellite. The sports network’s distribution portfolio includes Verizon Fios, go90, DISH Network, Charter Communications, Sony PlayStation Vue, Cablevision’s Optimum TV, RCN, and Google Fiber.
Following its debut in 2015, the NASL Game of the Week will return on Saturday, April 2, when the Tampa Bay Rowdies host Indy Eleven at 7:30 p.m. ET at Al Lang Stadium.
