Miami FC announced today that it has signed Vincenzo Rennella from Valladolid of Spain’s Segunda División.
“We are very happy to have him here in Miami," Miami FC Technical Director Mauro Pederzoli said. "Plus, we are confident that Rennella will be able to help us achieve our goals of reaching the playoffs this year."
Rennella, 27, found success with Lugano of Switzerland during his second stint with the team. His breakout season came in 2008-2009 when he scored 24 goals in 22 appearances.
Five years later, Rennella, who was born in Saint-Paul-de-Vence, France, but carries Ittalian citizenship, made a permanent move to Real Betis of La Liga. Betis loaned him to CD Lugo, where he scored 13 goals for the Segunda Divisón side. After a season with the Real Betis first team, he was loaned out to Real Valladolid.
He scored three times in 14 games for Valladolid before joining Miami FC.
