The Fort Lauderdale Strikers and Minnesota United played to a scoreless draw at Central Broward Stadium in Lauderhill, Fla., on Wednesday night. Each side hit the crossbar and forced multiple saves out of the opposing goalkeeper, but neither was able to find the back of the net.

Loons midfielder Jamie Watson rattled the crossbar with a long-range effort in the 30th minute, while the Strikers (3W-3D-5L, 12 pts) had a good chance of their own 11 minutes later when Brazilian midfielder Adrianinho forced visiting goalkeeper Sammy Ndjock into a tremendous one-handed save.

On the other side of halftime, both sides created chances, with perhaps the best coming in the 73rd minute when substitute midfielder Ramón Núñez stung the palms of Ndjock, who could only tip the Honduran’s shot off the crossbar. In the end, the two clubs settled for a share of the spoils – a result that was good enough to move Minnesota (4-5-3, 17 pts) into fourth place in the NASL Fall Season Standings.
