Miami FC extended its road unbeaten streak to seven games and moved into third place in the Fall Season with a 2-0 win over FC Edmonton on Sunday afternoon at Clarke Field. The loss snapped the Eddies’ 10-game home unbeaten run.

Dario Cvitanich scored his eighth goal in the 14th minute to put Miami FC (6W-4D-2L, 22 points Fall; 7-8-7, 29 Combined) in front early. FC Edmonton goalkeeper Matt VanOekel rolled the ball out to Nico Di Biase and Cvitanich was able to muscle the Eddies midfielder off the ball, rounded the ‘keeper, and planted his shot into an empty net to give the visitors an early advantage.

Miami FC increased its lead in the 71st minute when Vincenzo Rennella ran onto a ball from goalkeeper Daniel Vega, after it evaded the head of Papé Diakité, and rounded VanOekel to score his first NASL goal.

The Eddies (7-3-2, 24 Fall; 12-5-5, 41 Combined) had dangerous chances of their own in the first half, but were unable to convert. Canadian international Nik Ledgerwood came close to scoring in the sixth minute with a shot from 25 yards out, but Miami goalkeeper Daniel Vega was able to tip the dipping effort over the bar. Seven minutes later, Ben Fisk rattled the crossbar with a blast from the top of the box.
