Deltas Sign Three More Players To Inaugural Roster

The San Francisco Deltas added three more players to the roster, the club announced today. Canadian defender Karl W. Ouimette, Spanish midfielder Cristian Portilla, and Dutch defender Kenny Teijsse are the latest players to sign with the Deltas for the 2017 inaugural season.

Ouimette, who has made double-digit appearances for Canadian men's national team, is currently in the team’s camp along with Deltas defender Nana Attakora; they are competing to be one of the 18 Canadian players who will head to Bermuda for a CONCACAF friendly on January 22. Ouimette was a standout in the youth ranks for the Montreal Impact, and became the first-ever Impact Academy player to sign an MLS contract in 2013. He won two Canadian Championships before joining the New York Red Bulls in 2015, where he was loaned to NY Red Bulls II and Jacksonville Armada FC.

Portilla is a center midfielder who has been all over the world to ply his trade. Trained by the Spanish national team from U-16 to U-21 and developed in the Racing Santander youth ranks, Portilla has played for first-division squads in Spain, Greece, Hungary, and Cyprus, and competed against the likes of Leo Messi, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and David Villa. Most recently, he appeared in 19 matches for Mensajero of Segunda División B in Spain.

Teijsse’s primary position is at left back, but as his highlight tape suggests, he is dangerous all over the field. Teijsse has played his entire professional career in his native Netherlands. He started at FC Utrecht before being loaned to FC Oss, Helmond Sport, and Sparta Rotterdam. For the last two seasons, he’s been with Go Ahead Eagles of the Eredivisie, where he scored four goals.
