Miami FC announced Thursday that the club has signed 18-year-old midfielder Cizario Pinto Lopes Da Costa to his first professional contract.
“We are thrilled to bring in an exciting prospect like Cizario,” Technical Director Mauro Pederzoli said. “The club is looking to start investing in young talent to build a strong and lasting club for years to come. We are happy to start this vision with a player like Cizario, who has the potential to grow and become a true professional in the sport.”
Cizario, a native of Guinea-Bissau, joins the Miami FC after training with Espinho of Portugal’s third division.
At just 18 years old, the midfielder becomes the youngest player to sign with the club.
“I am very excited to have the opportunity to play in the U.S. with the Miami FC,” Cizario said. “It is a country where the passion for soccer continues to grow and I’m happy to become a part of it. I also hope to contribute as much as possible to the team’s success this year.”
